Iris douglasiana is the easiest pacifica to grow here in western Oregon. I
would think hybrids which have some of its resistence to rots would be the
best bet for naturalizing. Both it and I. tenax grow like weeds here and
certainly stand competition from other plants. They will grow in heavier
soil than some of the other more temperamental types. I. innominata which
has bright yellow to pumpkin-orange blooms is also quite easy here. This
year I will try to get my act together and submit seeds to the exchanges!
