Linda, My greatest success with named PCN's has been with the cultivar BIG
MONEY, which I have brought to large clump size twice.  It was on a hillside
with good drainage.  I mulched it winter.  Not realizing that the dogma on
these irises says stay away from manure, I even mulched one winter with well
rotted sterile manure...it had no harmful effect.  I still believe it is the
wet and humid summers and poor drainage that are my biggest
problems...coupled with "something" in my soil.  I highly recommend
sterlizing the soil where these are to be planted.  Clarence Mahan
