Gunnar, To register an iris with AIS, which is the world registar for
rhizomous irises, there are certain rules, but they are quite reasonable.
The most important is that the name must be "free", i.e. not have been
approved previously for another iris. Then there are a few other what I
would call minor rules. For example, when naming an iris for a person, one is
to avoid titles such as Mrs, Mme, Mr., etc. Avoid obscene words, etc... Hope
