Apparently plants can be damaged by some of these potions and/or they 
simply don't work to solve the problem they are intended to treat.  Also, 
most ingredients have not been tested and approved as pesticides or 
whatever and may have negative effects on the environment, etc.  I am 
being purposefully vague as I don't remember specific problems--just a 
lot of negative feedback and frustration that PBS sanctions his show.
