Hi Iris folk,
My name is Scott Aitken. I am one of Terry Aitken's sons. Many of you know,
or know of, Terry Aitken, who runs the "Aitken's Salmon Creek Garden" in
Vancouver, Washington.
I have two main purposes in being on this list: 1) as the graphic designer
for the (new & improved!) "Bulletin of the American Iris Society", and 2)
to be an electronic contact for the "Aitken's Salmon Creek Garden".
1) Some of the more observant of you may have noticed a small article
(three sentences, really) in the January Bulletin of the AIS. It said that
my father, Terry Aitken, will be the new Bulletin editor, beginning with
the July issue. Since I run a small Desk Top Publishing company, I agreed
to help him.
The Bulletin will have a whole new look. It will have larger, easier
to read type. It will hopefully have more color Iris pictures (if we can
keep the printing costs down).
If you have any suggestions or requests for changes -- both in design
or content, feel free to email me, or write to my father. The deadline for
article submissions for the July issue is April 15 (tax day!).
2) If you want to email Aitken's Salmon Creek Gardens, you will need to
send it to me. At least for now. I am encouraging my parents to hook up to
the internet, but so far they are reluctant.
Thanks,
Scott.
