I forgot to include in my previous message a step in the  seed 
starting process: after soaking the iris seeds in a 10% bleach solution 
for 1/2 hour, rinse the seeds in water THEN cover with plain water and 
refrigerate for 12-14 weeks...I did not soak these seeds in bleach water 
all 12-14 weeks in the fridge!
