This is my second test message and the first worked well so I
thought I would pass on how to use the new index feature of the list.
This message and my first test are now in the archive as will all of your
new messages. they are indexed by subject in an archive file which
is named yymmdd where yy is the year, mm is the month and dd is the day
to see what is available use the index command to the list server as follows
send mail to listserv@rt66.com
in the body of the message: index iris-l
that is it - no signatures or any other stuff - it just confuses the system,
generates error messages, extra mail for me to read and generally wastes
bandwidth on the net.
by return mail you will get the index of each archive file with the
subject of each message contained in the archive
to get one of these archives use the 'get' command - if you need help on
the command send the message 'help get' ( no quotes ) to listserv@rt66.com
and by return mail you will have the doc on how to do it
I hope this serves you well
