I disagree - some irises do very well in other people's gardens that don't do
well at all for me. (gee, have I mentioned that before? : ) ) Also, if it
doesn't do very well, there isn't much to take to the sale. And sometimes,
there are irises that might require more care or special conditions than I
might be willing to give (or can possibly have, like a hill top) in order to
do well. A lot of our rhizome sales tend to be to fellow club members (iris
collectors), and we ask a lot of questions. We also tend to suprevise
selections by new growers and make sure they get good performers.
