Dear Millers: No room to give you aheading, but I just HAD to let you know
that your dwarfs seem to be dooing great. I planted a brand-new bed in front
of the house. Unbelievable, there are buds on some of the SDB's. !!! March
1 !!! I fear that we will be badly hit by a freeze. The early daffodils are
open, the flowering pear, quince, crabapple . Your pumila 1867 is still the
best pumila here. I will be glad to try your new ones, though without too
much hope of success. I have them planted where they will get considerable
afternoon shade, and hope this will encourage them in our overly-hot summers.
Will be happy for any pumila pollen you may be able to send. Lloyd Zurbrrig
in balmy Durham, NC where it was 75. F. today.
