Dear Juli: The Space-Age irises (which are tall-bearded) are normally very
late with their bloom. I like this, for it extends the season of bloom. Here
in Durham, NC USA, I am in Zone 7.5 or 8, so there is lots of time.
Perhaps someone from farther north can give you further suggestions. My own
TRUMPET CONCERTO grows at my brother Earl's home, which is parallel with the
top of Georgian Bay , (the eastern projection of Lake Huron,) It was in
bloom when I was there on July 1, a few years ago. Lloyd Zurbrigg, Durham,
