Sorry, I can't credit this 'cause I hit the DELETE key when I meant to copy.
Someone commented on Walter Moores' math re. GAY STRIPES and I think it calls
for clarification:

That's just old-fashioned hybridizing notation applied to White's E-series, not
an equation.
The equation form was offered as:
(1/4 + 1/4)/2 = 1/4
This would have been both correct and appropriate in the era the quantum system
ruled, IF the parents were known to be quantum system 1/4-breds. But this was
not true in the case of GAY STRIPES.
For today's modified chromosome-set system, we'd have to write:
1/4 + 1/4 = 0, 1/4 or 1/2
That's why we no longer use the equations!
