Dana,

I am at present an agnostic when it comes to alfalfa tea. I use the pellets
by mixing them into new or redone beds, and by working them into the soil of
established beds I am not redoing. Someone mentioned that the pellets are
unsightly---I have not found this to be so. Even if you don't work them into
the soil, if you hose them down, or have a good rain, they disintegrate
rather quickly.

Re the alfalfa tea, I question the efficacy of foliar feeding. Logic tells
me that this is a lot of work for dubious benefit. Putting the alfalfa
directly into the soil does wonders---even if the tea works, why bother?

The pre-emergents I am aware form a slight film over the soil. If the soil
is disturbed after application, that area will be susceptible to having
weeds. If the alfalfa mush is to get into the soil to work, I would think
that one should put it on BEFORE putting on the pre-emergent. Clarence Mahan
