Siberians in pots.

In short - tough as nails. We have had overgrown, rootbound Siberians in
gallon pots survive the winter sitting on top of the ground with no
protection other than snow.

I grow them in a mixture which is about 80% screened hog fuel and 20% peat
with a mixture of slow release fertilizer, trace elements etc.
