However, there is
one thing that I must comment on. I too know a Clarence Mahan, however the
one that
I know is much different from the one The List knows! Two
Clarences???????!!!!!!????? >>
Welcome to the list, Sterling! I assume this is the Sterling Innerst whose
royal purple Japanese iris IPSUS won the Payne Award (and whose wonderfully
substanced, white Japanese iris ANYTUS should have won the Payne Award). The
same Sterling Innerst who hybridizes lovely standard dwarf bearded irises?
The same Sterling Innerst who hybridizes such gorgeous intermediate bearded
irises as the CARRIWITCHED (Innerst 93)?
Speaking of CARRIWITCHED, I have meant to get this beautiful plicata IB for
three years now, and somehow have ended up without it. I am hoping to be
able to find a tiny rhizome of it somewhere in PA when I come up next week to
present a program. Do you have any idea where I might locate even an itsy
bitsy piece of this iris? I am going to be driving the vanwagon up to carry
back a piece of CARRIWITCHED if I can find a small start of it. Good to have
you on the list, Sterling.
The real Clarence Mahan in Va
P.S. Sterling, of course I know about your Japanese, dwarf and intermediate
irises. But do you also hybridize tall bearded irises?
