However, there is
one thing that I must comment on. I too know a Clarence Mahan, however the
one that
I know is much different from the one The List knows! Two
Clarences???????!!!!!!????? >>
Great to have you on the list, Sterling, old friend. Welcome! You are
absolutely right about the rotter who has been impersonating me! I feel very
proud to have pegged BEFORE THE STORM as a fabulous iris when I first saw it
as a numbered seedling in Carol Warner's garden. The other fellow
impersonating me knows little about irises and probably would have overlooked
it---if that is possible! Also, be warned---the other guy is an iris
scrounger---always trying to get free irises, especially intermediates. And
what is worse, if you don't give him what he is after he nags you til you
can't stand it. My advice is to just give him what he is after and be done
with it.
By the way, what is this "Very seldom have anything of value to add?" You
can kid others, Sterling, but you can't kid me. Actually, I don't think
anyone is going to buy into this "Very seldom have anything of value to add"
bit, Sterling. Cheers, the real Clarence Mahan in VA
