"Banbury" is more of a breeder's prefix, as is commonly used among animal
breeders, than a related series of iris; all of the ones named above are
Pacificas, except BANBURY RUFFLES, which is an SDB, but there are also some
TB's with the Banbury prefix. The breeder in question is the late Marjorie
Brummitt of Banbury, Oxfordshire, who is best known as the hybridizer of
the outstanding Siberians, CAMBRIDGE and ANNIVERSARY, that won the British
Dykes' Medal.
