I tried Lindane a few years ago and concluded that it does not work for the
iris borer.  The areas where I sprayed Cygon had no borers.  The bed I
sprayed with Lindane had borers.  Limited experiement, and would not meet
scientific standards for test---but it was enough of a test for me.  Also
SEVIN definitely does not work at all.  Clarence Mahan in VA
