Lynn,

I have Louisianas growing in pots on my carport.  Overhead roof, but no
sides.  Of course our winter weather is relatively mild, but we did get
some 20's with the lowest down to 23.  They can take it.  I imagine you
are somewhat colder than here so I would'nt suggest doing this, but I
think you should start hardining them off when all danger of frost is
past, then plant in their permanent location when spring settles in.
