This does probably help explain why even poor ol QUEEN DOROTHY grew like a
weed for three years without any bloom.  Probably the bud primordia were
getting killed in the winter cold spells, and drought later in the year was
preventing rapid growth needed for any later season rebloom.  Oh well.

absolutely gorgeous spring so far - fat little iris buds in the foliage of
RASPBERRY JAM.  Daffodils in the yard, bloodroot and (planted) bluebells in
the woods - soft little pale green elm leaves.
