One of the nice things about this list is the anarchy - all 250 or however
many of us there are can each call ourselves something different if we like.
As long as it doesn't violate the obscenity rules. I kind of like listers -
the lopsided sound of it has whimsical appeal. Reminds me of tall bearded
irises after a heavy rainstorm in May. Many months ago, somebody referred to
the cloaked lurkers as listners, which is also kinda cute.
Robins are usually required to be visible, I think, but I enjoy ?Mark's posts
with 'dear robins' as the header.
Some of my silly friends who are not iris growers refer to irises in the
plural as 'irish', so maybe that's who we are - they say 'iris' gets confused
with eyeball parts.
Also, remember, the only way to change the subject on this list is to change
the subject. Telling people to quit talking about something doesn't work,
fortunately. Same way - telling people to quit calling this a robin won't
work either. : )
