I just found in a local nursery a beautiful plant of I. japonica, with no
other identification. It's in a one gallon can and has 16 fans at different
stages of growth and one stem with 18 buds (all for $5.99).
I have read about I. japonica in Kohlein's Iris and The Genus Iris and AIS's
The World of Irises, but if anybody has any practical suggestions on its
culture, could you please share them? Mainly there are discrepancies about
needing shade or sun.
Thanks!
By the way, I just received the Recorder (my first one!) and not only I
enjoyed very much all the articles, but I also felt so good while reading
them! It was like reading a magazine where all the writers are your friends!
I guess I feel I know you all! When the truth is I only know Mike Lowes bonny
knees from a picture in the Bulletin!! Oh, well... some day.
Cheers,
Elena Laborde in Santa Cruz, CA, happy because John Weiler is coming to give
the program on rebloomers at our meeting next Friday. You are all invited!
