<< This past week I have had 4 bloom stalks on a plant of Suky. This plant
was
just put into the ground in late 0ctober. It is just beautiful, a number

blooms
well proportioned on each stalk. I tend to think this may be late rebloom,
but
I wouldn't dare be disappointed if it didn't bloom again until fall >>
It is true that SUKY, although not registered as a rebloomer, does from time
to time rebloom in mild climates. However, in the Spring it is a very early
bloomer---it is always the first TB to bloom in my garden. This is why SUKY
is almost never seen at AIS Conventions or at iris shows----it has already
finished its bloom. I always think it a near miracle that it received the
Award of Merit, since if people do not grow it they seldom see it. It is
proving a very good parent and grandparent for rebloomers. (TBs that are
very early or very late are always at a great disadvantange when it comes to
getting awards---and yet we should be looking out for them because they
extend the bloom season.) Clarence Mahan in VA
