I recently visit Tom Little's homepage and read "Big Ideas for Little
Irises". I highly recommend Tom's essay for anyone interested in iris
hybridizing.
He describes and lists fertile families of bearded and aril irises and in
some detail discusses the hybridizing history and potential of the various
tetraploid bearded irises. The article is five pages long. Tom is an
excellent writer, and the piece is strong in content yet easy to read.
