Wide Crosses

I have some trouble understanding the term 'wide cross.'
To me, what Sharon does with arils and TB's is a wide cross.
And, even wider is what Lorena Reid does with Siberians and
Setosas.
The term 'wide cross' appeared in the current issue of the RIS
Recorder in reference to some of Monty Byers reblooming output.
Therefore, is crossing a rebloomer with a non-rebloomer a 'wide
cross?' Is crossing a TB (remontant or not) with a Space Ager a
'wide cross?'
Please help me understand the term?
