Lloyd, I agree with your definition of 'wide cross' more than what
others have said. My crosses would fall into their definition, and I have
never considered them wide. If a cold climate rebloomer x a warm climate
rebloomer is wide, why isn't an east coast oncer x a west coast oncer
considered a wide cross??
Another suggested that crossing from line breeding to non-line
breeding is a 'wide cross.' To me, this is an outcross.
