Robert, yes, I am in zone 5 (granted my zone 5 is much different than yours,
being at an elevation of 7000 feet at the dry tail end of the Rockies, with
somewhere around 11 inches of precip a year (correct me if I'm wrong, Tom)).
Anyway, our last frost date is in the middle of May, though we've had snow
into June some years, and our first frost date is Sept. 30th or so, though
once in a while we get warm weather into late October. Once in a while. It's
a difficult climate at best.
But I do grow rebloomers, and some of them actually get a chance to show off
in the summer and fall (though rarely two years in a row). Last year's
outstanding star was Monty Byer's PINKNESS. CORN HARVEST blooms in August
sometimes, and I often get rebloom on HI HO SILVER and LOW HO
SILVER--IMMORTALITY only once in ten years. And I have a seedling of BABY
BLESSES x SUNSTRIP which has bloomed every single September since it reached
the age of publicity.
What I'm saying is, don't pass up rebloomers just because you're not sure they
would bloom for you. Sometimes they won't. But sometimes they will, and then
it's a pure blessing.
Barb, in Santa Fe, still waiting for first spring bloom on the MDBs andSDBs,
zone 5 and Region 23

I read all winter about Iris rebloomers and am jealous sweeping snow
while others enjoy the rainbow of colors other an white snow on brown
everything here.
Has anyone been able to grow and enjoy rebloomers in Zone 5 climate?
I am under the opinion that north of Virginia its a frugal attempt to
expect rebloomers to dazzle us twice.
