Yes, I think the vinyl venetian mini-blinds are much better and I
use a laundry marker....impervious to rain and snow and I try to
position them not facing south altho' some are fine facing south.
They do look horrible IMHO and I am investing in some 'visually
friendly' markers this year at least for the front and side gardens.
Someone gave an analogy next year that the beds looked like mouse
grave yards...and it is true. :-)) But they are cheap since people
throw them away....
