I've been following this discussion and wondering whether we are all talking
about the same item. The Fall 1994 issue of the SIGNA newsletter contained a
special section on pollinating and germinating various types of irises.
Colin Rigby (editor) described it as follows:
"We want to especially call your attention to the series of articles on seed
and seed germination toward the end of this issue of SIGNA. These articles
are the result of a questionnaire contrived and sent out to various iris
hybridizers by SIGNA Seeds Director, Darrell Probst. Each article deals with
a specific type or section of species irises and we think these articles will
serve as a useful and informative reference for years to come....."
This section of articles runs from p. 1938-1967. Because of the length, I
think the best way for folks to get this would be to send $4.00 to:

and request a copy of SIGNA Number 53, Fall 1994. The rest of the bulletin
