Re: CULT: % of losses

Hi Dana!

My loses happen right after planting most of the time, which makes me think
the rhizomes themselves were not to par. In part it is my fault; if I like
the iris in question, I bring home from the club's auction any rhizome I can
find, regardless of condiction, some times real 'rejects'! About 6 or 7%
right-after-planting loss. Otherwise, I loose an average of 2/3 plants per
year (320 plants), which is not even 1%.
Of course you have to consider that I live in coastal central California,
where the elements are sooooo kind!
I'll be interested in knowing the results of your survey!
Cheers,
Elena Laborde in Santa Cruz, CA, with some PCs open, PERSIAN BERRY and PETER
PATTER (IB) are still in bloom and about 10% of the TBs are showing stalks.
