Amy... while I'm sure the more learned folks on this robin will give you the
whys and wherefores... I can tell you that most dwarf irises are rock-solid
hardy - seeming even to thrive on the cold!  In my garden in the snowbelt
south of Buffalo, NY... I can plan on them putting on a show no matter WHAT
the winter dealt.

When I DO have a loss, it'll either be immediately after planting a mailorder
plant... or over the winter due to heaving or those &*%$#& bushy-tailed rats
or striped rats being convinced there's something directly under one so they
excavate.

Kathyguest who just snuck outside in her jammies to make sure her comet was
still in place.  It is...with a much longer tail this morning!
