CULT/HYBRID/germination

A report from the tidal Potomac:

The first seedling of the year stuck its wee green head out of the dark
soil in its loaf pan yesterday. And, despite the overnight freeze, two
more appeared today. They sit there brightly reflecting the morning
sunlight, seeming to say, "See me! See me! See me!" All too soon,
however, the refrain will change to "Plant me! Plant me! Plant me!" And
I, perenially challenged for new garden space, will have to have decided
whether to put them in the remaining extremely rocky end of the seedling
garden, or to consign yet another portion of the backyard lawn to these
importunate newcomers. "Decisions! Decisions! Decisions!"
