Margie--there's another reason some people would rather stick with the iris-l
than with a robin. A robin is a huge responsibility, what with having to sit
down and write a fairly lengthy letter whenever the packet shows up. And if
some, like me, are neatness-challenged, it's always possible to mislay the
whole thing, and then you have the chairperson calling you up to ask why it
didn't show up at the next stop in time. Well.
But some (other) people are actually organized and love writing letters, and
have the time. For them, the robins are wonderful, and e-mail just isn't the
same. It's sort of hopeful to know that there's something for each of us.
Barb, in Santa Fe, where it's been warm and lovely, and my silly apricot tree
is in full bloom. I know there's another snow storm out there somewhere.

I'm thinking that the experts will most likely not totally abandon the list
for the sake of the robins. If they are members of the list now they will in
all likelyhood continue their membership and will continue to contribute.
The robins will merely enable them to delve deeper into the technicalities
and nitty gritty of their specialitys that us newbies and tourists wouldn't
participate in anyway.
