MAGIC MAN lives well here, and BEHOLD A LADY does extremely well here - grows
and blooms reliably. I will probably plant some of it in with the sweet
williams this summer and see if it continues to perform when treated like a
regular plant. MAGIC MAN stayed alive in the mixed border of wild weeds and
sweet williams but hasn't bloomed more than every now and then. It seems to
be doing much better out in the plowed rows. The other three Blyth intros
have either sulked or died.

50-60 inches of annual rainfall (one year of severe drought only 35), summers
in the 90s, occasional 100s. Winters all over the place -some years the
ground never freezes, some years it stays frozen for months. Record low -25o
F. Usually not many nights below zero, and usually not many snow events - no
reliable snow cover. This winter, not many nights below 10.
