AIS: AIS Bulletin Review

I am presently reading through old issues of the AIS bulletin on loan to me
from Vernon Johnson of the IRIS-L. AIS is so filled with history that my
review through the old bulletins has been quite an education. I've even
located a teenaged photo of our own Tom Tadfor Little and articles from
many other IRIS-L members as well!

I heartily recommend that new iris lovers try to obtain some older
bulletins for study. I've learned much about past hybridizers, the
evolution of tall bearded iris form, and I've located two bulletins which
seem to be almost entirely dedicated to beardless irises - one to Japanese
irises (July 1987, Number 266) and one to Siberian irises (July 1985,
Number 258).

This brings to mind a question. Does AIS still make back issues available?
If yes, how far back are they available and for what price? I couldn't
locate mention of this in my last bulletin.

-Donald (I am also singing the praises of JESSE'S SONG in my garden!)

P.S. - Vernon, I do have a few other TB plants that seem as vigorous as
JESSE'S SONG in my garden, but only one of them has a bloom stalk at
present - HEAVENLY BLISS (Byers 1989).
