Lloyd Zurbrigg reminded me last year to take precautions with iris seeds
that may be about ready to germinate in outdoor flats. They can be
killed by a hard freeze like we are about to have. Take 'em indoors or
cover them with jugs of water and/or Reemay.

Forecast for tomorrow is in single digits or at least low teens. 'taint
fair, but it's right on time. There go the pallidas and germanicas -
flower buds will be killed in the rhizome. I may cover the rebloomer
bed, or I may let nature continue the selection process.
