Hi John; Speaking to your question, Chesapeake & Potomac Iris Society, =
Reg.4 in No.Va. and Md., usually give judges mileage one way, a small =
gift and lunch. Some judges will not except the mileage. This is in =
regard to a flower show. When we ask someone to give a program and/or =
judges training, that is a different matter. We will pay all expenses =
for travel, lodging and meals. This past Sunday, we had a wonderful =
presentation by Keith Keppel and 2 hours of judges training. In =
addition to the above we also gave him a gift. Ginny & Don Spoon, took =
him to Harper's Ferry ( an historical site) and the National Arboretum, =
in addition to some other sight-seeing stops. In essence, judging and a =
program are treated a little differently. But then, a new society, may =
not have the funds to do the latter, so each one has to decide what they =
can do.
Regards, Sara Marley, past Pres. of C&P, and currently C&P Iris News =
editor, among other things. Need more info, e-mail me: digger@anent.com

Just thought I would drop a quick question to the list members.
What is the "typical" honorarium paid to a speaker for a club program, =
in
addition to travel expenses?
Any input would be appreciated.
