My name is Norm Everhart. I live in Bothell, Wa. a small town a few miles
east of Seattle. I raise iris as a hobby. I've been at it for 8 years. I
breed iris for fun and have been breeding for 7 years. I almost gave it up
two years ago when my beds got a bad case of leaf spot which I could not
control organically. But last year I gave up and sprayed with soap and
fungicide all year and have hopes for a better year this year. I got my start
by buying iris from Monty Byers 8 years ago. My first iris was "moonlit". I
now have about 1000 different iris, most of them my own crosses plus 100 or so
purchased breeding stock. My biggest problem now, if my leaf spot is not too
bad this year, is weeds. With about 400 square feet of bed area it is almost
overwhelming. If anyone has any suggestions to reduce the labor of this chore
I'm willing to try anything suggestions. Hope to be sharing ideas about
iris, (all of mine are TB with a few dwarfs) with others.
