POAST is an "over the top" post-emergent which kills grasses only. 
PARDNER is an "over the top" which kills broad leaf weeds only.  And
finally, my favorite which is a pre-emergent is SURFLAN.  SURFLAN is
also an "over the top" which is sprayed on clean ground and at least an
half inch of rain, or equivalent, must seal it in. I'm sure in your
climate you won't have any problem with the half inch.  SURFLAN will
give me control of almost all weeds for 1 year.  Wonderful!
