An iris-loving friend of mine is moving to San Francisco. Can anyone
tell me how TBs do in San Francisco proper (and please don't suggest
that's a contradiction in terms).
Griff Crump, along the tidal Potomac near Mount Vernon, VA, where at
11:30 p.m. it is still 30 above, rather than the teens predicted. It
appears that my closeness to the river is providing some protection.
Still, I worry about all those TBs that never died back, stayed green
all winter and are now more than a foot tall. On Monday night I brought
indoors more than forty seed containers having newly sprouted seedlings.
They are sitting on the kitchen floor and already bending toward the
light of the windows. jgcrump@erols.com
