I would not find Wal-Mart dependable. Who knows where they got them and
how fresh and viable they are. I noticed you are a member of SIGNA and

I would put them in the fridge (not the freezer) for a month in a
plastic baggie with moist vermiculate. I say this because I think that
your area will start to warm up soon. Plant them out in pots after the
month in a good sterlized potting medium.
The Setosa's I grew from SIGNA seed last year seem to be thriving in my
Zone 8 garden. Better than the versicolors, prismaticas and
Chrysographes. SIGNA seed was 960376, "Blue repeaters".
