Hi Claire.... I've been growing I. bucharica for many years with excellent
results. I have taken no special pains with it. I purchased the bulbs years
ago from a local nursery in the fall - they are dependable and very
cheerful... blooming with the early alliums (if I remember correctly).

And boys and girls, I'll have you know WE HAVE LIFT OFF!!! The I. reticulata
are blooming their fool heads off in the front garden.... showed up when the
snow melted! Kathyguest was doing the dance of joy for all the neighbors.

I. reticulata for anyone who does not know is a bulbous iris... tiny and
choice. The best colors, IMHO, are the dark purples and blues. The light
blues and whites get lost. They look like very small Dutch iris (florist
iris) and they bloom with the earliest crocuses. They are dependable and if
you did not plant any last fall, you have my deepest sympathy... but DO make a
note right this second to FER SHER get some in this fall.

Kathyguest... pitying the fool who lives in the north and does not plant
spring bulbs
