Dear Griff: Right. There is a lot of violet on the top of the standards in
the Schreiner picture. What "got" me was that they say it never has more
than six buds per stalk. Maybe it was just such a good thing that no one in
the East ever counted the number of buds. Whatever, no one has ever pointed
it out to me before. The catalogue is overwhelming, as always. I noted a
really nice amoena from Lauer, really blue with quite white standards, and
they refer to it as a neglecta! Maybe the picture is at fault?
If you or anyone else has a few nice transparencies of rebloomers, I will
try to show them at the meeting of the combined Garden Clubs of Virginia
Beach, when I address them on April 8.
We stayed glued to the TV for awhile tonight when severe thunder storms
threatened tornados. One tornado touched down on HWY 220 and ruined a town
center completely. Lloyd Zurbrigg in Durham NC
