Zelma McDaniel asked:
<< I have been looking for a good inexpensive source of labels that will
last. >>
Paul Tyerman (Australia) replied:
<<I use venetian blind slats (the metal ones). Cut them into suiteable
lengths and then write the names WITH A PAINT PEN.>>
Zelma, I also use venetian blind slats but with a China Marking Pencil. They
are wax based and will last two seasons through the heat of Southern CA. If I
keep the Iris I just renew the name with the China Marker, if I don't keep the
iris, I clean the blind with a little windex and use it for a different iris.
As Paul says, it is a very economical way to keep track of your garden.
