CAT: International Iris Seed Source

Greetings, Paul and other seed fanciers,

If you need a source of iris seeds that will do generally do business
internationally via e-mail, but always by snail, and will also accept charge
cards, check with Chiltern Seeds in England.

I cannot locate my 1998 catalog or I'd have spoken earlier, but I have the
1997 here and they listed some mixed dwarfs, some black form chrysographes,
mixed douglasiana, foetidissima and also foetidissima "Citrina", mixed
"germanicas", graminea, missouriensis, pseudacorus, setosa, some mixed
siberica hybrids, tenax and a pack of mixed species which sounds like a
challenge to germinate.

People are about divided on whether the seed is great seed. I've had no
trouble at all with some of it and got a couple of packs of obscure but not
difficult things that I know were dead. No germination info on the seed packs,
which is a real drag for a beginner. Everyone agrees that it a wonderful
catalog, though. You might want to check it out until you can join SIGNA.

Anyway, to get the catalog here in the US is five bucks. Here are their
particulars, per the 1997 catalog.
