LA: Godzilla

Dennis, are you saying that you presently have 2 fans of GODZILLA growing?
I saw this iris in a catalog last year and was going to order it out of
curiosity but I just never got around to it (a round tuit...gotta get one
of those, too)
I confess that I buy many irises because of their name. It's a way of
getting kids interested...BATMAN is the most popular in our garden with
kids. They always ask if I have any Star Wars irises...I don't, but I'm
looking. They put their name on a list and I call them in the fall. only
one stipulation...they have to plant it and take care of it themself, then
report back to us. ROCK STAR, SPACE ANGEL, JESTER, WITCHES WAND, ORANGE
SLICES(a candy sample in a zip-lock baggie provided so they don't eat my
iris) BABOON BOTTOM and other Brad Kasperek irises...and I'm ordering many
more of those from Terry Aitken's catalog this year. These are but a few
wiles we employ to get kids hooked on irises. How come nobody's named a
nice purple self, BARNEY?...I'd go for that one, wouldn't you, Dennis?
And, BTW, I'm sorry about your mother's passing. I still miss my mother,
but I feel especially close to her when her irises bloom I my garden. I
take good care of them for her and wonder if my kids will do the same for
me. Ann Henson, Zn 5/6 in S. IL where the wind is being very "March"
today...but it's warm & sunny.
