Re: OT: Sisyrinchium?

Mark,

I'm not certain of the alba id., however, the blue is quite plentiful in the
lawn, etc.
here, kinda like clover grows in some areas. Like you I gave some a special
spot and it really liked being pampered a bit. Some I received from a species
friend in Illinois is blue also but the grass is taller and thicker, kinda
like
comparing crab grass and St. Augustine grass. I have two more I found
in England last year but they are rather poky in growth, one of them is
white.
I love this plant for some reason and it's many varieties.

Are you enjoying growing in a new area? I have done so much of that moving
around the country in the past. Always enjoy the challenge in seeing the
difference soil, climate, and other factors involved in growing. Right now my
spuria foliage is so stately and tall, but never expect it to meet the
criteria
of the same plant in Arizona or Calilfornia. Surprisingly the bloom stalks
are
often equal to any, many blue ribbons. Have you noticed this? How about
this factor if you're tuned in Walter or Lloyd?

Claire Honkanen, Isle of Palms, SC. where only my few Siberians seem to
be a little slow in showing new growth, they are my greatest challenge and I
keep trying different things. Region V 7/8
