Hello,
My iris season started today with 5 stalks of old fashioned white flags and
the midget bonus which reached an astounding height of 3 inches. There is
only going to be one bloom. It is 2 inches wide with falls which recurve
back to the stalk, the standards are med lavender not altogether evenly
applied, the falls are a reddish, maroonish, lavenderish blend rimmed by
the same color as the standards. It has med orange haft color and an ivory
tint on the edge of the styles which are basically the same color as the
standards. The beards are sparse, but long both in depth and the length
they come down on the falls and are a grayish lavender. It actually is
more in proportion than it appeared it was headed while in bud. Any ideas?
I'm assuming from its looks it is an aril type.

Zone 7 and with more buds coming out of the fans but those that were
showing earlier are not coming as fast, so they probably got effected by
the last freeze. It is apparent now that one clump of Dutch iris were
pretty much wiped out as far as blooming. Usual for this one.
