Dennis is correct in this. Golf Courses use huge amounts of chemicals
in keeping the "perfect" look. Some of the chemical applications could
certainly be avoided.
The same goes with Chemlawn. In Lexington, KY, I remember seeing them
spraying the stuff during the rain. How much good did that do?
I am not totally anti-chemical, and will admit using them on occasion
myself. However, when I do, it is only when necessary for the sake of the
plant in question, and when no rain is expected for at least 24 hours.
Also, I use insecticides late in the day when bees are not active here, and
will not spray an open flower or large bud.
We have several different kinds of Bees here, and many unusual
Butterflies, an I want to keep them coming. We even have Bluebirds here.
