The ASI (Aril Society International) Plant Sale is held in late Spring and
is an excellent source for aril and arilbred plants. Last year some
300 cultivars were listed. This sale is for members only; however it
is very simple to become a member. Dues are $10 per year or $28 for 3 years
and include an informative yearbook and three newsletters each year. Membership in
this small but enthusiastic group is open to anyone interested in these
beautiful plants. The three year membership carries a plant sale discount
coupon for $12. There is more information available at our website:
                 http:/www.telp.com/asi/
As listed there, dues can be sent to Reita Jordan, Membership
Sec't'y, 3500 Avenida Charada NW, Albuquerque, NM 87107.
ASI always recommends that you start with arilbreds, namely hybrids
between aril and other bearded irises. Try pure arils after you have
some experience, as they are generally a lot more difficult to keep happy.
