If an iris produces pollen, does that necessarily mean the pollen is viable?
Worded another way, if an iris is called pollen infertile does that mean
that it doesn't produce any pollen, or that the pollen it produces is
infertile, or could it mean either?
Here's the reason why I ask. My I. danfordiae bloomed and it is loaded with
pollen. Since I bought it from a local K-mart years ago, I assume this is
the infertile variety that I've heard so much about. So is this pollen no
good?
